One of my Kirsten's has silver eye in both eyes....but I've decided not to persue fixing it at the moment cause I don't want to risk a non-PM head going on her..

Yeah it just happened...from previous posts and my understanding is that PM German made dolls with the painted glass eyes are the only ones prone to it...for whatever reason the paint falls away from the visible part of the eye, leaving it "silver"...it's also a known prob by AG, and they will replace it...but the whole thing is then you're putting Mattel eyes in a PM, so I'll just deal with my silver eyed Kirsten.

Oh, thanks! I often wondered what, exactly, caused that to happen to their eyes. I have a german Molly that I had to customize because she had such a terrible hair cut.. but I love her now.. she is one of my favorites. I had to send her off due to "siver eye" they only replaced her eye's and I was thrilled for that. I love the way the German dollies have a smaller body. They are so much more cuddly. Holly, as I call my GPM Molly now, is my 'sick dollie'.. when I feel uky or when I was going thru the 1st three months of pregnancy, I would keep her near me. So sad! I wouldn't mind getting a new head on any of my dolls except for Samantha. I do not want a pre-Mattel head on her because I can really tell the difference between pre-Mattel and now, plus she was my first doll that I have had for many years, and her features are a bit "loved," which is the way I like her. So I am really really hoping that never happens to her!
